Mercy Ships is an international faith-based organization that uses hospital ships to deliver free surgeries and life-changing medical care to the poor in Africa since 1978, touching more than 2.7 million lives and providing $1.53 billion in services. The United Kingdom’s branch of the nonprofit enlisted our support to build a digital fundraising program capable of supporting its ambitious revenue growth goals.
The challenge
Mercy Ships UK had a powerful story to tell, but the nonprofit sector is cluttered and noisy. Mercy Ships needed to stand out from the crowd and be noticed by donors and prospective donors, and to build a digital fundraising infrastructure that could grow at scale to support the charity’s revenue growth targets.
The solution
Building on research and strategic brand work, we developed a digital fundraising program that leveraged our technology stack and the systems already in place. Bolstered by our creative work, we used our state-of-the-art technology to introduce Mercy Ships to new audiences and to maintain the brand’s relevance among existing audiences. We built the digital infrastructure and the brand relationships necessary for positive returns during our multi-year partnership and beyond.
