Energy Transfer
Untangling the pipeline of public opinion
When public opinion on the Mariner East pipeline project was wildly unpredictable, Bravo’s ability to collect data in real time delivered the predictability that helped build critical support for the pipeline.
The Challenge
Making the unpredictable predictable.
There was only one thing that zig-zagged more than the Mariner East pipeline’s route across Pennsylvania: public opinion of the new infrastructure.
Energy Transfer, the pipeline’s owner, couldn’t address objections because they couldn’t track, much less predict, the constantly shifting sentiment. Bravo’s ability to measure public perception in real time was a game-changer for ET. We deployed nine targeted survey waves, each building on the last. Our analysis identified persuadable audiences and communities that enabled ET to maintain and even build support despite the constant flux of opinion.
