Williams Energy
Turning anger into approval
A proposed pipeline created protests, angry signage and scores of indignant social posts. Bravo’s first task was unexpected: listening. From there, we helped Williams Energy adjust its plan in ways that opened the door to public support.
The Challenge
Turning national news into a nonstory.
As soon as the Atlantic Sunrise Pipeline was proposed, there were scores of angry social posts, yard signs, and even protests. The national news came to cover it. Then Williams Energy called us.
Thanks to our team’s vast energy and pipeline experience, we knew we couldn’t change the conversation until we changed the plan. We quickly helped Williams shift from reactive mode to proactively address residents’ legitimate concerns. From there, we made sure the public was aware of the changes as well as the pipeline’s benefits.
The angry posts stopped, the protests faded, and the signs came down. Williams successfully secured all approvals to build the pipeline. Going beyond marketing to fully engage stakeholders doesn’t just change conversations. It ends them.
